About Homegrown Flowers
Homegrown Flowers is a Madison, WI floral design shop specializing in local, seasonal design. Committed to sustainable floral design, we use fresh blooms, foliage and other natural elements from southern Wisconsin in our work whenever possible. Our half-acre garden in Madison provides a variety of perennial flowers, shrub foliage and blooming spring bulbs. We partner with several local growers, members of the Fairfield Flower Co-op, for annual blooms and grasses. We’re not afraid to forage through the woods to for evergreens, and have even been known to knock on a stranger’s door to clip a few stunning peonies!
With these locally-sourced materials, we’re able create wild, romantic arrangements that are anything but ordinary. Our garden-inspired designs are bursting with show-stopping blooms and loads of fresh foliage, a different mix every week as the seasons change. From fancy county-club affairs to casual woodland picnics, Homegrown Flowers can create the perfect flowers for your wedding or event. I’m Caroline Bohler, the flower farmer, floral designer and dreamer behind Homegrown Flowers. I grew up surrounded by gardens - patches of bachelors buttons on the family farm, roses and boxwoods in my grandparent's yard and daylilies galore along our front fence. I started gardening on my own when I moved to Madison for school, growing spindly cherry tomatoes on apartment balconies and eventually securing a plot at a south-side community garden. This is where I fell head-over-heels in love with cut flowers, growing foxglove, snapdragons, dahlias and more. Family and friends grew to expect a jar of flowers with every visit. And then I finally got my dream garden - a huge lot on Madison’s west side that was quickly filled with perennials, bulbs and shrubs. Requests for wedding and event flowers began to arrive and in the seemingly endless winter of 2014, Homegrown Flowers was born. I can’t wait to see what the next few seasons have in store! |
